Confidence

The best accessory a girl can own is her confidence. We often feel insecure, confused, and flustered when someone comments on the way we did our hair that morning, or the clothing we chose to wear today. Why? Why do we compare? Why do we even care about what they said? We want to fit in, and we want to be loved. We feel that without others accepting our choices, we cannot make them. Today I'm not going to give you the normal confidence talk. Yes you are beautiful, and yes you should not care what others think, but that's not what I'm talking about. The confidence I'm talking about makes you beautiful. It makes you capable to do amazing things. When we know with a confidence, when we have chosen to believe that we are beautiful, we become that way. There is something about the smile of a girl who knows who she is, something about the way a girl holds herself, a bounce in the way she walks. She knows that she is beautiful, because she has chosen to be beautiful. She recognizes that she can do amazing things, and because of that, she is happy. Wake up in the morning with a smile on your lips, and beautiful words coming off of them. We are not only beautiful because of our appearance, we are beautiful because of the thoughts we think, and the words we say. The best type of makeup any girl can wear, is a smile. Yes, I wore makeup. No, I do not need it. It depends on the day. Today I woke up this morning, smiled at myself in the mirror, and went straight downstairs without putting on any mascara. I just had to look at myself to know I didn't need it. My friends think I'm beautiful, my family thinks I'm beautiful, I think I'm beautiful. I do not think that I am more beautiful than anyone else though. We are all beautiful in our own way. Whether it's our deeds, or the smile we offer to a stranger in the halls. Just keep your chin up, and your smile big. Everyday, decide to be beautiful. Decide to be confident, and sooner than later, you will be!

Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day everyone! Sorry I haven't been able to post for a long time. Today is the day that we celebrate our Mothers. They have loved us, cared for us, and taught us our whole lives. There is something about women that unite us together. We all have divine qualities that we can develop, and teach to our future, and present children. Here is a video on motherhood and the divine capabilities that we have been blessed with. Elder D. Todd Christofferson stated, "Women bring with them into the world a certain virtue, a divine gift that makes them adept at instilling such qualities as faith, courage, empathy, and refinement in relationships and in cultures." We have the divine ability to love and have empathy for others. Let us use this gift to bless the lives of others. We have been called to a sacred duty, to be the ones who care, love, clean, dry tears, solve problems, and have charity for those around us. From the talk, The Moral Force of Women, "You don’t have to be perfect; I don’t claim that you are. What I mean to say is that whether you are single or married, whether you have borne children or not, whether you are old, young, or in between, your moral authority is vital, and perhaps we have begun to take it and you for granted. Certainly there are trends and forces at work that would weaken and even eliminate your influence, to the great detriment of individuals, families, and society at large. Let me mention three as a caution and a warning." We cannot let the dark things of this world pull us out of our virtuous callings to be mothers. I strongly encourage you to pray daily, and strive to develop patience, acceptance, and charity for not only your friends and family members, but for those around you that cause you pain. I hope that we can all unite together as women, and fulfill the role we have been called. Please be supportive of your children, and love them with all of your heart. It is up to us to guide them along the right path. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!!!
